MIKE HUCKABEE

Huckabee is an enigma to me. I frequently rail against these empty suits running for President while being careful to espouse nothing. If you ask Hillary what she had for lunch she would promise to appoint a committee to look into the question and if you asked Romney if he loved his children he would assure us that he will carefully listen to experts on the subject before making his decision. Huckabee tells us what he thinks.

This is his problem.

Huckabee is a former governor and Baptist tele-preacher and it is the preacher experience that drives him. He has a Bible based view of science which would mean a Huckabee administration will force the U.S. science community into denial or back alley experiments. Which is exactly why the religious right supports him.

He also wants to address the nation-wide problem with handgun violence by flooding our communities with handguns. This is the Archie Bunker approach...Archie once explained that the answer to airline hijackings was to "arm your passengers." The millennial version of Archie Bunker is living and breathing and threatening to win the Republican nomination for President.

And, in this cycle's slate humor starved of candidates, Huckabee is funny. It may be his willingness to laugh at himself that puts him in the White House. If you ignore the undercurrent of blatant racism, you can find a lot of funny Arkansans.

Next to Ron Paul. is Huckabee the best option on the GOP side?

You claim you're going to start picking on the Dems. You have a big lay off and come back with this attack on this true conservative who is running FIFTH in the Republican race. You have no claim to fairness (NONE).

I was once pulled over in Arkadelphia (where Huckabee got his undergraduate degree at Ouachita Baptist) and the officer asked for my license and insurance. I complied and he called me in and ambled back to my car with a confused look on his face. I finally asked him what he pulled me over for and he said, "shiftin to fast."

Now, that's funny.
